Hanley Motorsports Eyes Strong Result at COTA with Pirelli GT4 America

Austin, TX
Three weekends into the 2023 Pirelli GT4 America season, Hanley Motorsports and the No. 999 GR Supra GT4 EVO, driven by Parker Thompson and Daniel Hanley, are poised to turn their demonstrated pace into a strong result at the renowned Circuit of the Americas (COTA). The 3.4-mile circuit, with its complex mix of fast sweepers, tight hairpins, and dynamic ‘S’ sections, is set to become a proving ground for the team’s growing strength.
Through their season to date, the team has overcome numerous challenges. The No. 999 incurred pit stop penalties in two out of three races and suffered a DNF in the other after Hanley suffered an early collision. For Race 2 at NOLA Motorsports Park, Thompson qualified second overall, but the team was denied an opportunity to capitalize on their front-row starting position when the contest was canceled due to weather. Despite these hurdles, Thompson and Hanley have shown great potential. As they approach the Circuit of the Americas – a circuit famed for its overtaking opportunities, and thrilling, unpredictable races, the duo aims to transform their evident pace into a podium finish.
Preliminary testing at COTA indicates that the No. 999 machine should be primed for the front end of the field. The team is excited about the potential of the GR Supra GT4 EVO and is ready to compete for a win. “We’ve shown that we have the speed to challenge the best in this series,” said Thompson. “Now it’s time to convert that speed into results. We’re optimistic about our chances at COTA.”
