Hanley Motorsports Geared Up for Pirelli GT4 America Season Finale in Indy
Indianapolis, IN
Hanley Motorsports is gearing up for the final races of its debut season as Pirelli GT4 America visits Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With two wins and four podium finishes under their belts, drivers Parker Thompson and Daniel Hanley are eager to end their first season of Pirelli GT4 America on a high note, seeking a top finish for the No. 999 Hanley Motorsports GR Supra GT4 EVO.
A rich, century-long history makes Indianapolis Motor Speedway an exciting stage for the finale weekend. For Daniel Hanley, the weekend is doubly busy as the rookie driver competes in both the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America and Pirelli GT4 America. The No. 999 Hanley Motorsports GR Supra GT4 EVO and thirty-three other factory race cars kick off the Pirelli GT4 America event with two practice sessions on Thursday. Friday morning’s Qualifying will determine starting positions for Friday evening’s Race 1 and Sunday morning’s Race 2.
Daniel expressed optimism about the weekend’s potential. “Indianapolis Motor Speedway is an incredible venue to conclude my first racing season. It will be a demanding weekend with two races in Sprint Challenge North America and two in Pirelli GT4 America. I previously had the opportunity to test here and feel very comfortable with the circuit. I’m grateful to have a fantastic group of friends and family here supporting me for the event. I’m hopeful that this could be my best weekend of the year.”
For Parker Thompson, the race season extends beyond this weekend. Following Sunday’s race in Indianapolis, Thompson will travel to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for the Motul Petit Le Mans and the culmination of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Thompson emphasized the importance of ending the season on a strong note.
“Our Hanley Motorsports team has had an incredible debut season in Pirelli GT4 America. We’ve come a long way since March. Since mid-season, we’ve experienced some great success. No matter what happens this weekend, we’ll leave here with our heads held high. That said, we’re aiming for a win! Anytime you can end a season on a high, you’re setting yourself up for a successful off-season.”
